So, yes we’ve gone gaga over the iPad when it was first launched. Now, because of Apple’s marketing genius, this same iPad that is already so popular is making headlines again by being thinner, lighter, faster and more powerful. Because of the addition of the word “Air” consumers now feel that their version is outdated.
What does it do?
Well, if you have an iPad, it’s not so different from yours. It has a few under the hood improvements as well as camera and processor updates. It’s beautifully built, as with all Mac products. It is very thin but does not look cheap. It’s 28% lighter. It is 7.7 mm thin but has the same screen size as previous models.
It runs on the 4G network, that’s around 30 mbps in London. Its battery life is 10 hours. The smartcover adopts the flimsy 3-panel design used in the iPad Mini.
So what’s so special about it?
The design is what makes this gadget brilliant. It is also more useful for reading. It knows if your thumb is interacting with it or you are simply holding it. This is the best tablet on the market today thanks to the 475,000 apps available.
Since it is thin and light, you don’t have to worry about bringing it along with you. You don’t really notice that it’s there but you notice what you’re doing on it. Apple is also now giving away more software so that’s a plus.
It costs £399 but the question remains, should you really pay that amount for another tablet? Even with all the affordable tablets out there and even with its number one rival, Samsung, nothing truly feels like the original iPad and no tablet has more apps than this one.

If you don’t have a tablet yet and are looking for a quality investment, look no further than the iPad Air. It is aesthetically pleasing but functions like a work horse. It is expensive but you won’t be disappointed with the software and apps that you can utilize for work, entertainment and personal stuff. On the other hand, if you already have an iPad, it’s probably not a good idea to shell out money for this one. Wait for Apple to release a product that is more impressive than this one.
